Not so when you see an old glamour shot by George Edward Hurrell. You get the feeling that Hurrell’s brief was ‘Make these people seem like Gods’.
Hurrell obliges with dramatic lighting and exaggerated poses that together with the flawless wardrobes and fabulous hair treatments make them seem like they are not of this earth and that Hollywood is a place located in some distant solar system where only the truly beautiful can dwell.
