Philip Seymour Hoffman RIP

2014 Sundance TIn Type Portraits - Philip Seymour Hoffman

I was lucky enough to see Philip Seymour Hoffman on Broadway in 2000. He played the lead along side John C Reilly. Apparently every other night they swapped roles such was the depth of their respective talents.

I have to say that it was one of the best 2 or 3 greatest performances I’ve ever seen at the theater; utterly explosive and totally compelling. Sadly, neither I nor anyone else will have a chance to see this magnificent actor on stage or screen again.

Capote, Boogie Nights, The Talented Mr. Ripley, Almost Famous, Before the Devil Knows Your Dead and The Master are among a filmography that will show for all time what a great performer he was.
